PLEASE! Preserve and Protect our Beaches.

On April 9th and Then again on the 16th,
a Group of Dedicated Volunteers from a
couple of Great Organizations joined Forces
on a Couple of Cold Windy Days and
Planted 10,000 Stalks of Atlantic Beach Grass.

New York State Parks

Bredndan planting atlantic beach grass on the dunes at gilgo beach ny

The Main Planting Area was the new Dune, just West of the Gilgo Park Entrance on the Ocean Side.
This Dune had been Knocked down by Winter Storms in 2010 and the State
Made an Emergency 100,000 cubic yard Sand Replenishment Installation.

This Location was also targeted for Beach Grass Planting last Year.
The Goal being to create a Network of Vegetation to Secure the Dune.
